"The primary school sport funding is used well. More pupils participate in sport with greater success thanks to increased sporting opportunities at lunchtimes and better staff skills, because they have received training and coaching."

“ACES have been fantastic with the children in my class, I have seen major improvements in their participation levels since the start of the academic year. One of my students would never take part in PE prior to ACES working at the school, now she takes part in every lesson! ACES are amazing at making sure all the lessons are inclusive For the students, working on a variety of fundamental skills to be implemented into a variety of sports”.
Mr D Taylor Armley Grange School, (Class Teacher)
“I am grateful for the benefit ACES gives the children, as they get a lot of enjoyment out of the PE lessons. As PE lead, the CPD sessions are really useful, after these sessions I felt more confident to relay information to other staff.”
Miss C Hazel, Jerry Clay Academy (PE Lead)
“I have learnt so much since working with the ACES staff! I am not the most confident with OAA, and have always found it challenging to teach. However, the ACES staff have been brilliant to work with and being provided with resources that support learning has been hugely appreciated. The knowledge that they have is impressive, and they always make sure that every child feels included in the lesson. The children always commented on how much they have learnt from the lesson, they loved it that much that they wanted to do more!”
Miss Kemp, Rawdon Littlemoor (Class teacher)
“The teachers at St Peter’s and Clifton Primary school have worked alongside a qualified sports coach to develop high quality provision, which provided opportunities for all pupils in the school to take part in a wide range of sports and physical activity. The coach has worked to upskill teachers in various sports which they identified as feeling less confident when teaching. Teachers from reception to year 6 have worked alongside the sports coach to observe and learn from the ACES planning and delivery. A wide range of sports and physical activities have been delivered over the year such as OAA, cricket, basketball, hockey and fundamental skills. Lunchtime activities and after school sports clubs have also been provided to increase physical activity levels. The Sports Ambassadors have been supported to organise and run lunchtime games and pyramid sports competitions. The sports coach has been a fantastic asset to our school this year. Teachers now feel confident delivering a wide range of PE sessions which will benefit our pupils in future years”.
Mrs. K, Barrett, Horbury St Peters (Class teacher and PE Leader)
“ACES staff work with different year groups to deliver CPD PE training for teachers specifically using the Cathedral competition sports as a focus. After school they continue their day by leading an after-school club which we have focused on football this year. We started with girls in term one, mixed them in term 2 and then will return to girls in term 3. I wanted to see an increased engagement of girls actively taking part in football which has been successful as they have also led lunchtime games too.”
Mrs. R. Smart, Flanshaw J & I School (PE Lead)
"ACES provide a first class service. They have reinvigorated sport in this school by delivering high quality PE lessons which engage and enthuse the children, and by leading highly successful long term professional development for teachers."
